This committee oversees and coordinates our participation in sponsoring a child from the New Mexico Children's Home in Portales.  In addition to the $100 monthly support, we also remember our child's birthday, contribute to his/her school supplies, and clothing needs.  We try to make their holidays and special occasions memorable.  And we send him/her to summer camp.

BRIDAL SHOWERS            BABY SHOWERS      

This committee coordinates hostesses for each shower given within our church family at Cuba Avenue.

FLOWERS FOR SICK & FUNERALS         
Gail Hunt
This committee is responsible for taking flowers to those who are in the hospital.  They are also responsible for ordering flowers for funerals.

GRADUATE RECEPTION

This committee works in cooperation with the Youth Ministry to honor our high school graduates each May with a reception.

MEALS FOR THE SICK        

This committee organizes and calls people to provide food for the sick.   

NEW MEMBER INVOLVEMENT                           

This committee makes sure that new members are welcomed and are aware of our activities.  Newcomers are encouraged to get involved with the congregation so that we can better serve each other and God.  Special fellowship opportunities are planned to help them get acquainted with members on this team and with the elders, ministers, and their wives.  

    
NURSERY

Cuba Avenue provides a nursery during the Sunday morning worship hour.  This committee arranges for attendants for each week.

OUTGOING MEMBERS           

This committee offers a special opportunity for the entire congregation to bid outgoing members "adieu", by hosting a Farewell Potluck and giving these special members a proper send-off.  They are also responsible for having a New Mexico on My Mind signed and presented to each family.

NURSING HOMES & HOMEBOUND              

This committee checks on the needs of our homebound members and those at the nursing homes.  They provide lap robes, etc. for residents.  They look for other ways to minister to these people.

RETREATS                     

This committee schedules our retreats, organizes sign-ups for each retreat, and plans activities for the time we are there.  The spring retreat is hosted and attended by the ladies of our congregation.  The fall retreat is hosted by area congregations and is an opportunity for our ladies to meet and fellowship with other Christians.

SECRET SISTERS

This program occurs twice annually and includes matching each woman who wishes to participate with another (secretly) for the purpose of edification and prayer.  Each program is concluded with a dinner of revelation!

This committee is called upon to coordinate and serve during special fellowship functions not currently covered by other groups.
